Usually, Saturday nights mean sittin' in front of the TV watching "The Lawrence Welk Show" but for the webmaster on one particular Saturday, July 15, 2006, it means I get to spend...
SATURDAY NIGHT WITH THE WELK STARS IN LANCASTER
A concert with pictures and a review from your webmaster JB Funky
This is the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania....where the concert took place
It's been seven months since my last Welk concert (Guy & Ralna in Mt. Pleasant), and this particular one is very exciting for yours truly. On a nice and hot summer morning in July....your friendly webmaster along with his father, hopped into the car and drove eight hours from my home in Toledo, OH to the Amish tourist trap of Lancaster, PA where we'll be seeing Guy & Ralna, Anacani, Arthur Duncan and Jo Ann Castle live at Lancaster's American Music Theatre. It was very exciting to me because prior to that Saturday, I've never met Anacani, Jo Ann and Arthur in person, or seen them live before....and I had a feeling that I wouldn't be disappointed.

The theater itself was very nice, it was bulit in 1996 and has hosted many popular performances held by some of the biggest stars in music....and the Welk stars have been there many times before, but this my first I have been there. I met many of my friends from the Yahoo! group Welknotes and it was great to play catch up on what's been going on here in Welkdom.

There was two performances that day, the first at 2:00 and 8:00, the latter I had tickets for. I did hear that two of the Semonski Sisters, Audrey and Michelle, attended the 2:00 show...however, I didn't see them or recoginze them at the 8:00 so I don't have pictures.

But that was the least of my concerns, I was here to see the stars, take pictures and have a good ol' Dutch Amish time! And without any further delay....the show is about to start, let's go!
Here's a nice shot of the chandelier hanging in the theater's lobby
And here's your friendly webmaster ready to see the show....let's go!
