FOREVER BLOWING BUBBLES
IN EASTLAKE
PART TWO: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
Next out was Bobby Burgess, who sang "All I Really Need Is A Girl" and that led to introducing his dance partner, Elaine Balden which led to dancing.
They did plenty of dancing throughout the show, such as the Tango, Fox Trot, the Waltz and the Polka. Speaking of polkas, they did a super-cool  Pennsylvania Polka which many eager folks from the audience took turns dancing with Bobby and Elaine. Later on, they also taught a history of American Dance which included the Cake Walk, the Charleston and the Jitterbug. Take it from this wanna dancer....I would like to have them teach me a step or two! Too bad I was born with "Two Left Feet"....quoting Clay Hart from one of the Welk shows..
OUR FAVORITE DANCE COUPLE
ELAINE AND BOBBY!
After get my kicks on the dance floor, the Aldridge Sisters were the next act. They opened with the Motown classic "It Takes Two" followed by "Blue Bayou" and "Silent Night" which was dedicated to their mom. They are two of the most beautiful women in my opinon, both inside and out, and their voices and harmonies sounded really great!
Later on, the Blenders came back out with Mike Redman singing "The Wanderer" while wandering about in the audience, then got to see Clay & Sally again with "Stand By Your Man/Woman" and the always popular "Orange Blossom Special" where Sally got to play her fiddle...that always brought the house down! After a nice waltz by Elaine and Bobby, the whole cast came out for the finale by singing some of our favorite Christmas Carols.
SHEILA AND SHERRY ALDRIDGE
TWO OF MY FAVORITE LADIES!
THE GANG FOR THE FINALE (left to right): GREG, MICHAEL, ELAINE, BOBBY, SHERRY, SHEILA, CLAY, SALLY AND BOB
And just like that, the show has ended....and what a wunnerful, wunnerful show it was. Everyone, from the performers, to the musicians and those working behind the scenes did an exceptionally great job putting on this concert. They all put their heart and soul into this effort and everyone in the audience thanked them so gracefully with applause and cheers. Then it was time for my favorite part of the show, talking with the music makers in the lobby...signing autographs, buying CDs and catching up on old times. It was a pleasure knowing each and every one of them, they are all so nice, sweet and great folks...one you want to have lifelong friendships with.
That's the 2006 Forever Blowing Bubbles show in a nutshell, hope you enjoyed it!
