FOREVER BLOWING
MORE BUBBLES
Clay and Sally returned to the stage for a little bit of country, starting with "I've Been Everywhere" plus they also sang a very special song for a pair of newlyweds who are both in their eighties...and that was moving and inspirational. Also Sally got to show off her fiddling skills with a medley of tunes from "Rocky Top" to "Orange Blossom Special." The way she fiddles, all I havc to say is....look out Bob Lido!
Next out was the icon of Irish tenors, Joe Feeney and he got things rolling with "Mariah" which was wunnerful wunnerful wunnerful as always.
He also did many number of great Irish songs such as "How Are Things In Glocca Morra", "Let There Be Peace On Earth" and "Danny Boy."
He also bragged about his son Chris, who we may remember as a youngster on the show's Christmas programs but now is a really really talented and famous member of the Los Angeles Opera. He was also in the PBS pledge special "Precious Memories" in Brason as well.
Joe used that occasion to sing "Walk On" a great number he sings with Chris, and it was very very good!
The whole cast came out together on stage for the last time to close the show, and for the show's head honcho Bob Duncan, he chose a very fitting and timely way by starting with a meldey of songs saluting the good ol' USA and the states that give our country that flavor of excellence followed by Christmas songs such as "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" and "Joy To The World" just to name a few. After that came the famous "Adios Closing Song" we hear after every Welk show. It was a wunnerful, wunnerful show put together with perfection...and I got my chance to say howdy to the stars in the lobby.
I already cannot wait for the next Welk show....how about you?
