FOREVER BLOWING
MORE BUBBLES
Next out was Ava Barber whom I was very familiar with from previous concerts, so entertaining and funny that
folks are left screaming "MORE, MORE MORE!"
She started things off with a country yodel number, did some bragging about herself and her husband Roger, and of course, enlisted three guys from the audience for "Y'all Come" which we all couldn't get enough of, it is still very funny and very wunnerfully done!
The Blenders came back out to help introduce our next act...Cissy King.
Cis is one of my favorites and always never fails to put on a great routine starting things off with "I Can Do That!" followed by some great memories on the show laced with some great Welkisms which led us to the most infamous Pennsylvania Polka in the history of Northeast Ohio.
Let me explain, during the actual polka, Cissy enlists the help of two men from the audience to dance with her while the song is being performed, one gentleman volunteers...does a great step or two for a job well done. The next fella to volunteer was, YOURS TRULY....and while Cis was excellent her feet as always, I just simply made a fool of myself cause I cannot dance worth the darn. You remember one show when Clay Hart mentions he doesn't dance because of his two left feet? Well Clay, let's just say you're not alone....still I had fun and she was such a terrific sport, like I was.
There was one fly in the ointment...I FORGOT TO HAVE PICS TAKEN!
Gail Farrell followed Cissy as the next act, and got the joint rolling with her on the piano with selctions such as the ever popular "Root Beer Rag" which always leaves me thristy for a root beer because it is so tastefully good! Plus she also took time to talk about her husband Ron Anderson, who now works full time at Country Home Loans....leaving him no time for singing, darn....their twin daughters Erin and Lauren going through life after college...and joking about since their wedding anniversary is on December 7th (Pearl Harbor Day) that she jokingly lets Ron "attack" her.
That is always good for a heartfelt laugh, plus she also demonstrated her obligatto style of singing from the show "Picnic."
